Our Board of Directors
The MFL Board of Directors is composed of members from both the public and private sector. With designated representatives from Marietta City Schools, MFL is a community based mentoring program
partnering with the school system to augment and complement school initiatives. The members of our board actively serve as mentors and on committees and support the organization financially. We are very fortunate to have such an engaged board.
Board Meetings are usually held the second Monday of every month at 11:30 am at the MHS Student Success Center, 1171 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, Georgia 30064. The Agenda for the upcoming meeting is posted 24 hours in advance on this page.
Executived Director Job Positing
At the June, 2018 meeting, the Board approved a new contract position for an Executive Director. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and is the key management leader of Marietta Mentoring for Leadership.
The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. Initially, the position will be a part time contract employee position of 20 hours per week with an annual salary of $35,000 to $38,000. There are no additional benefits provided . It is the intent that the position will become a full time position as the program grows and funding is available.
General Duties for New Position:
Leadership and Management - Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation MFL.
Marketing & Fundraising - Serving as MFL’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, professional, civic and private organization, and the general public to enhance MFL’s image and increase the program’s visibility within the community and donor support.
Financial Performance & Viability - Monitor and maintain financial integrity of the organization, proposing annual budget for approval by the Board, providing monthly financial statements to accurately reflect MFL’s financial condition.
Strategic Planning – Responsible for managing the strategic planning process and implementation of the strategic plan.
The ideal candidate will, first and foremost, be passionate about serving kids and our mission. They will be well-connected in the Marietta Community and have outstanding networking, and presentation skills. The position requires a person who is a self-starter with good management and organizational skills and collaborate well with contractors and partners of the organization. Previous non-profit experience is a real plus.
